French population located in the department of the Marine Alps, the region of Blue Provenza-Coast. It is located in the Italian border, next to the Italian town of Ventimiglia.
The foundation of the population did ligures, (which also they founded Monaco and other next localities), and after diverse historical ups and downs, in which it changed time and time again of vasallaje, became city towards 1200. From the 1346 to the 1848, the city of Chin belonged to the Principality of Monaco, with the only interruption of the French Revolution. After a brief period in which it belonged to Sardinia, in 1860 it happens to comprise of France, as a result of a referendum. During World War II it was occupied by Italy, from 1940 to 1943.
The lemon is one of the symbols of Chin, since it is the only region of France in which, thanks to an incomparable microclimate, fructify the lemon trees. For some years, in February the Celebration of the Lemon has been celebrated. Geographer Elisée Reclus gave the sobrename him of “per it of France”. The villa is shown to the Mediterranean Sea, and has a beautiful bell tower. In Chin the novelist passed away Vicente Blasco Ibáñez, and Jean Cocteau spent long seasons.
