Blois is a French city, the capital of the department of Loir and Cher, located in the borders of the Loira river between the cities of Orleans and Tours. Blois counts on an approximated population of 51,830 inhabitants (1999 census). The famous Château de Blois is a Renaissance palace constructed by king Luis XII. To the West of the city the Forest of Russy can be found, a sample of the old forests that at a time covered the zone.
