Biarritz is a French city in the coast of the Gulf of Vizcaya, in the southwest of France.
One is in the department of the Atlantic Pyrenees (64) in the region of Aquitania. It is near Bayonne and Anglet, and to 18 kilometers of the border with Spain.
The casino of Biarriz (opened from the 10 of August of 1901) and their beaches make of the city a tourist center. Surf finds in Biarriz one of the most important points for its practice. Biarriz lives facing the sea. It was in his origin a whaling town. During century XVIII the doctors recommended the baths of sea in Biarriz by their therapeutic properties. Biarriz reached the fame in 1854, year in which the Eugenia Empress (wife of Napoleón III) made construct a Palace in the beach (nowadays known like Hotel du Palais). The British Royal Family spent seasons in Biarriz.
