Gästrikland is one of the smallest provinces of Sweden but it offers piles of activities and points of visit - everything to an advisable distance.
Gävle, the biggest city of Gästrikland has 90,000 inhabitants and is the oldest city of the north of Sweden. The most famous inhabitant of Gävle is an inflammable figure that all (almost) want that Christmas survives. It is a male straw joist that every year adorns the Seat of the Palace throughout the period of Advent (the four weeks before Christmas).
In Gästrikland we found the greater whiskey distillery of Sweden, Mackmyra Whiskey. At the moment of they age about 300,000 liters of whiskey of Malta so that the lovers of this drink rejoice in the future. The distillery can be crossed with guided visits.
Here we found also the park of Furuvik, zoological and the park of diversions of Gästrikland with the only stable circus of Sweden where the Youthful Circus of Furuvik makes its presentations. The park of Furuvik also offers interesting possibilities to organize conferences.
The Railway Museum of Sweden is in Gävle with one of the most important collections of the world of locomotives and wagons.
Gästrikland has a very rich history that comes from the time of production of the iron.
