Cresterío of the Amboto in the region of the Duranguesado
Ubicación: Located to the north of the Iberian Peninsula it limits the west with the Independent Community of Cantabria, the south with the province of Towns and the historical territory of Álava, the east with Guipúzcoa and the north with the Bay of Biscay. It gives name to the gulf of Biscay. Extension: 2.217 km². Terrestrial perimeter: 167 km, marine: 80 km.

Climate tempered, oceanic Climate, with much cloudiness throughout all the year. Abundant and frequent precipitations, specially in autumn and winter, with one mediate annual of 1,200 mm. The temperatures are smooth as much in summer as in winter (14-15ºC. of annual average). Population Biscay has 1.135.847 inhabitants, being the ninth Spanish province in number of inhabitants. Its density of population is of 512.34 hab/km², single surpassed by Madrid and Barcelona. Gentilicios: "vizcaíno", "vizcaino", "bizkaitarra".
