Santa Cruz de Tenerife is a Spanish province located in the Independent Community of the Canary Islands, formed by the islands of the Palm, the Gomera, the Iron, and Tenerife; as well as by a series of roques adjacent (Salmor, Garachico, Anaga). In 2005 it has 956,352 inhabitants National Institute of Statistic of Spain. The capital of the province is the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, located in the island of Tenerife.

It is the capital of the island and the Independent Community of the Canary Islands, shared with the Palms of Great Canary. Also it is the capital of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. She is located in the northeast of the island of Tenerife to borders of the Atlantic Ocean.
The city is nailed between the bay that takes to the name of the city and the Bulk of Anaga, raising itself in amphitheatre from the coast to the summit. It has an extension of 150.56 km² and one population of 221,567 inhabitants (National Institute of Statistic, 1 of January of 2005). Its altitude in the historical helmet is of 4 meters on the level of the sea and the municipality has 58.33 kilometers of coast.
