Lérida (official denomination and in Catalan: Lleida) is a province of Spain, of the part the west of Catalonia. It limits with the provinces of Gerona, Barcelona, Tarragona, Zaragoza and Huesca, and with France and Andorra. On the population of 399,439 inhabitants (INE 2005) of the province, approximately 30% live in the capital, Lérida. The province is composed by 231 municipalities. In this province is the Valley of Arán, zone of mountain with own language, aranés, dialecto occitano. The national Water Park Cakes and Lake of San Mauricio is in this province. Lérida has a barren Mediterranean climate with continental tendency, that is the own one of the Valley of the Ebro. Invier to us they are fresh and the warm summers, with little rains and summer drought.
