The province of Corunna (in Gallego and officially: To Corunna) it is located in the northwest of Spain, and belongs to the independent community of Galicia. One is the province more populated with the community, whose capital is located in the city of Corunna. It limits the north with the Bay of Biscay, the east with the province of Lugo, the west with the Atlantic Ocean and the south with the province of Pontevedra. Climate The climate in the province is of European Atlantic type, characterized to have smooth temperatures and with little thermal oscillation and abundant rains almost all the year. Population According to the census elaborated in 2001, in the province of Corunna 1.096.027 people live. 413,423 people (INE 2005) live in the three great large cities of the province (Corunna, Ferrol and Santiago de Compostela). In the update of the register of the 1 of January of 2005 the population has increased up to 1.126.707 inhabitants.
