General Information

Gerona (official denomination and in Catalan, Girona), is a province of Spain, in the North part of Catalonia. It limits with the provinces of Barcelona and Lérida, and with France and the Mediterranean Sea. The province has 663,793 inhabitants (2005). Its capital is Gerona, where a little lives more on the eighth part of the total population. Part of the territory of Gerona, the municipality of Llivia, is an enclave separated of the rest of Spain and surrounded by France.
