Cuenca is a province of central Spain, in the part this of the independent community of Castile-The Spot. It limits with the provinces of Valencia, Albacete, Real City, Toledo, Madrid, Guadalajara, and Teruel. 207,974 people (INE 2005) live in the province. Its capital is River basin, where a quarter lives almost on the population of the province. There are 238 municipalities in this province; it see the list of municipalities of Cuenca.
Geography
City of Cuenca, located Houses in the coordinates: Latitude 40° North 04' and Length 2° 08' the West, the city is divided in two differentiated zones affluent: the old city, located on a rocky hill bordered by sickles from the Júcar rivers to the North and its Huécar affluent to the South, ending this last one at first at the low part of the old city, shortly before the call bridge of San Antón. To the West and the South of the city old, and separated by the Huécar river, the new city in direction extends the North-South. The altitude of the city oscillates little between the 920 meters of the new city and more than 1000 of the highest part of the old city.
Climate
The climate of Cuenca is Mediterranean continental, with temperatures you cold in winter and smooth in summer, with an important daily thermal oscillation throughout the year, the more accused months of more heat. The precipitations are more abundant than in their surroundings due to the mountainous orography of the Mountainous area of Cuenca, reason why they surpass 500 mm presenting/displaying a minimum of rains in the months of summer.
