The elegant greater island, as the Romans called has everything what one can dream. The first tourists began to arrive at the island at the beginning of years twenty and, until the civil war, a selective tourism was growing in her, specially of intellectuals and artists.
Their smooth cloudless sky climate, its landscaping beauty, its great history, and its cosmopolitan atmosphere, turn it a privileged place, where the cultural supply is equivalent to the one of a greater city ten times; for example the Audience of Palm counts itself between one of the best concert halls of Europe. In Majorca we found relax, source of inspiration, culture and leisure, "everything in so small territory". Most of the visitors they are limited a small space that surrounds to the beach chosen for its vacations, and forget that aside from a gorgeous coast, Majorca offers wonderful landscapes and treasures between its plains and mountains that the pain deserves to know.
Some excursions by the same one will show an unimaginable wealth to us of resistances. We began by the capital, Palm, doing a beautiful route by the Bay of Palm. As one is only about about 16 km from the Port to the Sandy ground, we recommended to do it in bicycle, by a way that, bordering the coast, will deparará the pleasure to us of the slow tasting of beautiful beaches of the Portixol, the Molinar, Coll d'En Rebassa and Can Tablet to finish in the Sandy ground. In order to return we recommended to take the same way. In the same Bay of Palm, are other gorgeous enclaves that it is worth the trouble to visit, like Illetas, a bay of about 75 m.s of extension with beautiful pine groves that caress a sand coast fine, or Santa Ponça, transparent sand beach finísima and waters.
Another excursion, starting off from Palm is the one of the gorgeous Mountain range of Tramuntana, that runs compares to the sea in the Northwest of the island. Here we will not only enjoy extraordinary landscapes, but that we will pass by gorgeous enclaves of great historical and artistic value. We can choose between a shorter way, taking the N-711 highway in the direction of the North, arriving directly at the Soller, or longest, happening through Calvía, very colorful population with beautiful Mediterranean landscapes of olive groves. In her they emphasize its Romanesque-gothic Parochial Church and the Castle of Bemdinat, of s.XVIII. The highway until Andraitx takes to us by gorgeous coastal towns with some of the most beautiful landscapes of the island; we passed by Cabo Andritxol and the protected beach of Camp of Sea, gorgeous cove with sand beach, and an islet in the center.
We arrived finally at the Port of Andraitx, a gorgeous natural harbor surrounded by pine groves and shared by fishermen and veraneantes. To about 5 km in the interior is the historical helmet of Andraitx, of which we have fantastic a panoramic one from the stop of the cemetery. The most interesting points to visit are their Parochial Church and the house-palace of Is But San Telmo is nevertheless the visited coastal port more of the island, perhaps by his strength of s. XVI and being departure point for the pretty Dragonera Island, near the town also are the interesting ruins of the monastery Sa Trapa.
We will not be able to give by concluded our trip without visiting the wonderful zone of the Bay of Alcudia, that we will include to the complete one if we descried it from Monte San Talaia. To the south there are some very pretty beaches and the Port of Alcudia that deserves the visit well. And already there the Park of the Lagoon. A way of bicycles of 12 km exists that surrounds the Natural Park. Although absolutely it is not paved, does not present/display great difficulty, because one is a level way and their earth sections are well smoothing. It is recommended to respect his natural harmony not vociferating, nor leaving the footpaths. Also it is possible to be taken a walk within the park by diverse ways, in the reception of the same one will facilitate all the necessary information to him.
