Fronteira is a Portuguese villa of the District of Portalegre, Alentejo region and subregion of the Alentejo Stop, with near 2 300 inhabitants.
She is host of a municipality with 245.20 km ² of area and 3 732 inhabitants (2001), subdivided in 3 freguesías. The municipality limits the north with the municipality of Alter do Chão, to the east with Monforte, the Southeastern with Estremoz, the south with Sousel and the west with Avis.
The leasehold one of concelho was granted by Manuel I of Portugal the 1 of June of 1512. |
