Castro Verde is a Portuguese villa pertaining to the District of
Beja, region of the
Alentejo and subregion of the Baixo Alentejo, with near 4 800 inhabitants.
She is host of a municipality with 567.31 km ² of area and 7 603 inhabitants (2001), subdivided in 5 freguesías. The municipality limits the north with the municipalities of Aljustrel and Beja, to the east with Mértola, the south with Almodôvar and the west with Ourique.
In Castro Verde, it contemplates the Treasure of the Real Basilica and the Wind Mill, makes a stroll on foot and observes the birds in the zone of Special Protection that is in the Herdade de Vale Gonçalinho.
