Camacha to 10 km to the northwest of Funchal, the town is nailed in forests and is famous by its floral workings, of wicker and basketwork. Camacha also is conceited to be the first place where it gambled soccer in Portugal per 1870 there. Close do Plaheiro, old home of Count de Carvalhal is Quinta, one of the richest landowners of Madeira, before it happened to the Blandy family, British family dedicated to the elaboration of the wine of Madeira. Known at the moment like the Blandy Gardens, the gardens of the villa are open to the public by the mornings and lodge an excellent collection of camellias, magnolias and roses.
