Anadia is a Portuguese city pertaining to the District of Aveiro, region Center and subregion of the Baixo Vouga, with near 5 500 inhabitants.
She is host of a municipality with 217.13 km ² of area and 31 546 inhabitants (2001), subdivided in 15 freguesías. The municipality limits the north with the municipality of Águeda, to the east with Mortágua, the south with Mealhada, the south and the west with Cantanhede and the northwest with Oliveira do Bairro.
Concelho received leasehold from D. Manuel I in 1514. The present municipality was created in 1839 by the fusion of several concelhos, being the villa elevated to the rank of city the 9 of December of 2004.
