Albergaria-a-Velha is a Portuguese villa pertaining to the District of Aveiro, Region Center and subregion of the Baixo Vouga, with near 7 400 inhabitants.
She is host of a municipality with 155.98 km ² of area and 24 638 inhabitants (2001), subdivided in 8 freguesias. The municipality limits the north with the municipalities of Estarreja and Oliveira de Azeméis, to the east with Sever do Vouga, to the Southeastern with Águeda, the southwest with Aveiro and the northwest, through a channel of Ría de Aveiro, with Murtosa.
Concelho was created in 1835, by dismemberment of the one of Aveiro.
