The Umbria region (in Italian Umbria) is located in the center of Italy, limits with the region of Latium the south. Km² has a surface of 8,456, and a(2002) 860,693 inhabitants. Its capital is Perugia the region receives its name by the Umbri tribe, who was based in the region in s.VI a.C. Its language was the umbriano, dialecto of the Latin.

Agriculture is concentrated in the zones of plain and it is dedicated mainly to the production of sugar beet and tobacco.
