Viareggio is a marine locality of international fame located in the zone of the Versilia and takes its name from the Regal Route, where the Luqueses constructed a defensive strength.
It is the greatest municipality and town of the Versilia. The greatness of the city almost completely occupies the municipal territory except a vast green zone that separates it of the district of Tower of the Lake. To the East, it shares with Massarosa the Massaciuccoli lake and the West it limits with the Tirrenean Sea.
The only old rest that has been in Viareggio is Torre Matilde, to borders of the Burlamacca channel, that was built by the Lucchese Senate in the 1544.

A service of ecological navigation proposes excursions in the lake and in marshes and, if the reserve with advance payment becomes, the old town of Massaciuccoli located in the Eastern border of the lake can be visited.
Here the rest of a villa are conserved and of the Roman spas called “Bucche I gave Nerone”.
