Cortona is a splendid medieval town that arises on a natural pillar to 651 meters on the level of the sea, to the Eastern margin of the Valdichiana, from where it is possible to be enjoyed a panorama that includes/understands the Valdichiana, inactive volcanos of Amiata and Cetona and Lago Trasimeno.
Cortona is located halfway between the tirrénica coast and the adriática and separates the regions of Toscany and Umbria. The climate is tempered; the winter is not very cold and in summer the temperatures are not excessively high.
It is a small city is characterized by the rest of his Etruscan past like the walls that surround the Museum by the located Etruscan Academy within the deposit.

The city counts between its guests illustrious artists like Signorelli, Laparelli and Berrettini. Finally, the Museum of the Etruscan Academy and the Museum of Farneta are interesting.
Cortona, from the natural point of view, is located in a privileged zone where the beauty of the landscape is a constant scene that accompanies to the inhabitants by the city and its visitors. To part of the natural variety of the beautiful Valdichiana, a zone of interest is surely Lago Trasimeno with a surface of 128 km ².
The Trasimeno presents/displays all the characteristic of a natural reserve and since so it is necessary to protect it.
This precious natural habitat with its waters where it is allowed to bathe, is visited every year, mainly in summer, by 30,000 people.
