Lugano is an important Swiss city that it is located to the borders of a gorgeous lake, famous tourist goal from 1800. The city represents a true bridge of connection between Mediterranean Europe and the Europe of the north.
The geographic position and the climate tempered with peridos lengths of sunny and dry time create a exuberante vegetation that next to the lake and to the mounts Brè and San Salvador surrounds the urban center like a natural amphitheatre by incredible beauty.
From the artistic point of view, Lugano offers a great number of monuments (mainly churches) between which we found the Cathedral of San Lorezo, of great beauty. They are also interesting: the Church of San Giorgio, probably constructed between 1616 and 1618, the Church of San Rocco of 1596 and located to few meters of the Cantonal Museum of Art, the Church of Santa Maria degli Agioli that conserves renacimentales jewels of Bernado Luini.
Finally, the Civic Palazzo that was constructed in 1844 and today lodges the City council of the city.
Lugano and its splendid lake give to the tourists a landscape and a natural atmosphere of splendid beauty and harmony. Part of the enchantment of this city is due to the presence of the origin lake glacier and that in two third parts belongs to Switzerland. This lake extends on a surface of 50 km ², and their dimensions are 35 km in length, 3 of wide and arrives until the 288 meters of depth.
Lugano is famous by the natural and botanical patrimony of its parks and gardens. Between these they emphasize: the Giardino Belvedere (located next to the lake), the Ciani Park (green reserve near downtown), the Park degli Ulivi (next to Monte Brè) and the Flowery Park (that extends next to the stroll of the lake).
Also the Park of San Grato is charming, to 10 km of Lugano: a peace reserve that extends between San Salvatore and Monte Arbostora. In addition, near the city, are the areas of the Sparing one I gave to Villa Saroli and the Area Svago Brè equipped with numerous services and structures for adults and children.
