Parma is a medieval city of the region of Emilia-Romagna, with a splendid architecture and beautiful forests that surround the city.
The city lodges the Regal Theater, a very famous opera house. Stendhal based great part of its work (The Charterhouse of Parma, “the Cartuja de Parma”) on the city, although in fact any “Charterhouse” does not exist. The city is also famous throughout the world by its cheese “Parmigiano Reggiano” (that Emilia shares with pride with Reggio), by his jamón of Parma and its company of in the sector of the Parmalat feeding.
Tourist center visited by its monuments and precious works of art. Only Parma can offer the work of Benedetto Antelami, the escultor/greater architect of the Average Age, or the work of Correggio, or specially significant moments of the painting of Parmigianino. Their eminent Conservatory, its famous Regal Theater and mainly the cultural traditions popolares and of their people show the importance of music in Parma, where in addition they were born Giuseppe Verdi was born, Fernando Paer, Ildebrando Pizzetti, and also Arturo.
Parma has a Mediterranean climate. The springs and the autumns are smooth. The winter can be cold and the warm summer. Average temperatures of winter go of 5º to 15º C and in summer of 25º to 33º C.
